Whilst some people don’t feel any pain at all, some may feel a warm sensation. Many clients are surprised at how pain-free this treatment is. The equipment we use has a built-in cooling system that allows full control over the comfort of the treatment and can be adjusted to individual requirements.
Depending on your hair growth rate, hair type, hormonal and lifestyle factors, the number of sessions required will vary between clients. Progress will be monitored throughout to determine the success of your treatment. We recommend starting with a block of 6 sessions and monitoring the progress as we go through the treatment.
We leave 4-6 weeks between each session to ensure the hair is in the correct stage for treatment. There are three stages of hair growth; Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. The hair will need to be in the Anagen stage to be treated successfully. For other skin treatments, we leave 3 weeks apart.
Super IPL laser offers permanent hair reduction. The treatment is virtually pain-free, it’s a quick procedure and there is no downtime waiting for the hair to grow like waxing, you will shave the area on the day of treatment and then in-between treatments. It’s simple, it’s quick and it works.
During the consultation, we will discuss the treatment in question and how it works. The patch test will be carried out on the inside of the arm so we can determine the best treatment setting for your individual skin type and to ensure the skin is suitable for treatment. The patch test is required 48 hours before starting any treatment.
For the next 48 hours after your treatment, you should avoid things such as excessive exercise, swimming, heat treatments, ice packs, restrictive clothing and perfumed lotions. You should ensure that the skin is clean and apply aloe vera cooling gel to the area if required.
Whilst most people don’t experience any side effects, you may experience redness directly after treatment, this is completely normal. This should settle within a few hours. We will apply 100% aloe vera cooling gel to the area directly after treatment.
